It is so true that a loved o...Wonderful post, Jay.<br /><br />It is so true that a loved one's words can really resonate -- and hurt us. My brother said something very hurtful to me just before Christmas and I don't know if I will ever fully forget those words. I may forgive him (as I am not a spiteful or vengeful person.) But I will never forget his hurtful words.<br /><br />When I was marrying in 1975, we had to attend "marriage preparation" classes as the man I was marrying was not catholic. The one thing I remember from those classes was the priest telling us, "In order to remain a happy couple, you must spend your time with other happy people." <br /><br />That sentiment is SO true -- in every aspect of our lives. Negative people bring us down, and so I choose to spend my time with positive people.
